It doesn't work like that more does it work for everyone but if your having the slow software issues most likely you have one of two problems first is a virus from using the Internet app on the Xbox or the second thing mostly is just dust build up inside causing it to over heat in smaller areas inside causing the CPU to overload and shut down that's why you will either stop downloading/disconnect from service or completely crash and shut off let's also not forget to clear cached data that also stacks then slows the consoles

Technically speaking, even hall effect sensors can develop stick drifr via different mechanisms: the springs losing tention, or the wiper's retainer piece losing tention. Granted it is not nearly as vulnerable or ubiquitous as the graphite abrasion based stick drift that haooens on potentiometer based sticks.

Definitely better than the one I got now had to take the top cowl off if because it was trapping some heat but I hate having to cycle through the lights to turn the LEDs off

All of my controllers tend to disconnect randomly while playing, then their Xbox button starts beeping but never reconnects, even if I press the syncing/linking button nothing happens. The only solution I've had was to restart the console (thankfully, quick resume exists, otherwise all my progress would be lost). All of them are updated btw. I hoped to find a solution here but I guess I'll keep waiting.

Didn’t work, used 70% isopropyl alcohol and did what he said, the joystick was half fixed the d-pad is now messed up and the other joystick is also half broken

I have 3 controllers with left stick drift to the left side I know how to take them apart fine could I take that mf out of the right stick and replace my left stick on a controller i use ? 😂

Strange, my controller ending with an A had the worst stick drift imaginable, constantly scrolling to the left on any menu, totally unusable. That was only after a month or two of use. My day 1 controller, ending with a 1, works just fine after 3 years of use.

doesn't cause stick drift. a potentiometer gets worn down by moving, not by standing still. they break due to friction damage (wear)
